Social media group rules
InValencia is a voluntary organisation, and our moderators give up their time to help keep the community safe and useful for everyone. It takes a lot of time to moderate Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram groups. Please follow the rules below in order to make the lives of the moderation team a bit easier!
- Respect
Please respect other users! Remember that most of us are guests in another country. Our groups are an excellent resource for foreigners and locals alike, partially because the community is friendly and helpful. Let’s keep it that way!
- Zero Tolerance on Racism
Racism will be met with zero tolerance in all of our social networks. Any time you see the International Valencia logo, you can be sure that racism is NOT welcome.
- Fake News and Misinformation
The last few years have been difficult for everyone – please don’t make things more difficult by sharing misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, global warming or any other topic. In particular, we won’t tolerate anti-vaccination posts in any of our online communities.
- Second hand items
Please use our Marketplace group to sell items instead of posting them in other groups.
- Advertising
Please don’t post adverts in the Valencia Expats group unless you are offering FREE services or products. You may advertise a room, flat or house to rent/buy, providing you follow the additional rules below. Jobs adverts are also permitted. Adverts are permitted in other groups, providing they follow the guidelines mentioned. As a general rule, prices should always be given and photos included within the same post.
- Property Adverts
When posting adverts for rooms, apartments or houses, please clearly state the price in the posted advert. Please note that only PRIVATE property adverts are permitted in our Valencia Expats group. No agencies. Additionally, if you’re looking for an apartment to rent, please do NOT include a budget in your post.
- No profiteering
When posting property adverts, please be aware that we won’t support profiteering in our groups. Inflated prices are ruining the rental market in Valencia. If you want to cash in on the housing crisis, do so elsewhere.
- Job Adverts
You may post an available position in our Expat groups, English Teachers group and Jobs group, but the salary must be included in the advert. Local jobs only – no remote positions unless they are based in Spain.
- Off-Topic Discussions
Please try to keep discussions related to Valencia. General discussions about life in Spain are also permitted.
- No AI
Anyone posting or sharing generative AI in our groups will be warned or removed.
